EXPERIENCE

This will be my 3nd year teaching 5th grade but is my very 1st year at County Line!  I am so excited to be returning to this grade level.  I love the content, as well as this age-group!  The transition from Gwinnett to Barrow County is something I am greatly looking forward to.

Before becoming a teacher, I had several other jobs working with children.  First, I was a painting and drawing instructor at Pinckneyville Park Community Recreation Center for the summer camp they produce through Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation.  Here I planned an art curriculum and worked with children ages 6 through 14.  Then, during the school-year I worked at Chase Street Elementary School in Clarke County as an after-school program assistant with student from Pre-K to 5th grade.  Most recently before teaching, I designed and was the lead teacher for an elementary summer day camp at Gracepointe Church in Loganville.

EDUCATION

I am a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Georgia (in case you're wondering why my room is red & black...GO DAWGS!).  I completed my Early Childhood Education degree through their College of Education.  I am certified as a PK-5 Teacher in the state of Georgia.  In college, I did my practicum experience in Kindergarten at Oglethorpe Avenue Elementary School in Athens and my student teaching in 3rd grade at Barrow's own Bethlehem Elementary School.

FAMILY/FUN

I have now been married for about three years to my fantastic husband, Anthony.   We live in a small neighborhood in Loganville.

While I don't have any kids of my own yet, I do consider my dog a huge part of the family in that way!  We found Lacey through the Athens Humane Society and fell in love with her immediately!  She is about 4 years old now and is a German Shepherd/Chow mix.  She is wonderful, and I would bring her to school with me every day if I could!

When I am able, I like picking up a good book and getting lost in it.  I also enjoy cooking, painting, and watching T.V. in my spare time.

I love being outside!  I designed and helped build a fruit/vegetable garden in the backyard and have loved watching it develop and grow.  If I'm not in the garden or on my back porch during the summer, you can probably find me at the lake or the beach!
